Qatar Duty Free (QDF) has introduced Le Petit Camion, a renowned local coffee shop, with a refreshed look and new menu offerings, at Hamad International Airport.
This launch reflects QDF’s commitment to empowering local entrepreneurs and highlighting local concepts to travellers.
Located in the departures check-in area of Hamad International Airport, Le Petit Camion is positioned to serve passengers as they check into their flights and embark on their travels.
In addition to their signature specialty coffees, travellers can choose from a new menu of pastries, sandwiches and more, including Kugelhopf cakes (orange and almond, rose and pistachio, or chocolate) and the chicken croissant cajun bun.
The launch event attracted guests from Qatar Airways Group and Le Petit Camion, as well as content creators and influencers. Attendees took part in interactive activities such as live portrait drawings, a photobooth, and a DJ performance inside Le Petit Camion’s signature silver 1972 Citroen H Van.
Since its beginnings in 2017 as a small start-up founded by two Qatari entrepreneurs, Le Petit Camion has grown into a thriving business with locations across Qatar. The coffee shop sources its ingredients from the best suppliers worldwide with a focus on local suppliers, to support the Qatari community.
The specialty coffee scene has been growing in popularity across the Gulf, driven by Gen Z customers seeking unique experiences. Qatar Duty Free continues to curate offers that cater to these evolving tastes and meet the demands of modern travellers.
Le Petit Camion joins a portfolio of local brands and concepts offered by Qatar Duty Free at Hamad International Airport, including Al Jazeera Perfumes, Wadha Fragrances, Evergreen Organics and Souq Al Matar, where most of its products are locally sourced and which houses local dining establishments Chapati & Karak and Basta.
Qatar Airways Group, Chief Retail and Hospitality officer, Thabet Musleh said: “One of our core values in our business is showcasing Pride in Qatar, so we take great pride indeed in partnering with a homegrown business such as Le Petit Camion.
“We believe it’s so important to partner with our creative local entrepreneurs. Not only does it strengthen the diverse range of our retail and F&B offerings at QDF, it also helps promote Qatari businesses and bring their stories to a global audience.”
Azzam Al Mannai, Co-Founder of Le Petit Camion added: “We’ve achieved many milestones since launching our café, but launching at Hamad International Airport and collaborating with Qatar Duty Free stands out as particularly special. Our mission began with the goal of bringing specialty coffee to the Qatari market, and we are thrilled to continue expanding our reach by heightening our presence at Hamad International Airport.”
