Doha, Qatar – January 8, 2025
Qatar Charity’s mission of giving continues unabated, thanks to the generosity of donors. Year after year, its humanitarian work extends to more people in need—refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), the underprivileged, orphans, and widows—, bringing them hope and support through impactful humanitarian and development projects. From rapid disaster relief to long-term sustainable development, Qatar Charity makes a profound difference in the lives of individuals and communities around the world.
Qatar Charity (QC) implemented relief, humanitarian, development, and social welfare projects worth approximately QR 1.57 billion in 2024. These efforts benefited around 22 million people across nearly 70 countries, with a special focus on crisis-affected and disaster-hit regions and the most vulnerable communities. Qatar Charity also continued supporting orphaned children and other marginalized groups through its “Rofaqa” initiative.
Thanks & Appreciation
At the end of 2024, Ahmad Yousef Fakhroo, Chief Marketing Officer at Qatar Charity, expressed deep gratitude to generous donors, indicating that their contributions have eased the suffering of millions of vulnerable people, improved their lives, and provided crucial aid during times of hardship.
Mr. Fakhroo emphasized that donors are essential to Qatar Charity’s success, hoping for a safe, secure, and blessed 2025 for Qatar. He encouraged continued giving to reach even more beneficiaries, including refugees and IDPs, especially given the ongoing crises and conflicts in the region. He also underscored the importance of contributing to sustainable development in the world’s most vulnerable communities.

Humanitarian interventions and projects in crisis-affected regions totaled nearly QR 528 million, benefiting around 11 million people. Key beneficiaries included Gaza (Palestine), Syria, Sudan, Yemen, Lebanon, Afghanistan, the Rohingya, Somalia, and Turkey, among others.
These interventions encompassed various fields, including comprehensive relief, food supply, shelter, education, health, water and sanitation, non-food items, social support, livelihoods, and training and capacity building.
Development and Sustainable Projects
These projects, costing over QR 510 million, benefited approximately 9 million people and included the areas of reconstruction, food security, education, economic empowerment, social welfare and housing, health, water and sanitation, and multi-service centers. The projects carried out in these areas included constructing and operating schools, hospitals, health centers, and mosques, alongside building model residential villages, drilling wells, establishing water infrastructure, and implementing income-generating initiatives.
Qatar Charity has also implemented sustainable projects, such as supporting student housing, schools, social care centers, and orphanages, as well as maintaining remote work hubs.
Orphaned Children
Qatar Charity, through its “Rofaqa” initiative, carries out comprehensive social care efforts, focusing on health, education, psychological support, capacity building, and improved living standards. This initiative sponsors orphans, needy families, people with special needs, students, teachers, and others, offering monthly financial aid to them.
Beyond direct support, “Rofaqa” implements various beneficial projects, including Iftar Meal, Zakat Al-Fitr, Eid clothing, Udhiya, protection and support initiatives, and other development projects. Additionally, income-generating initiatives are implemented to further empower and support beneficiaries.
By the end of 2024, Qatar Charity sponsored over 211,000 individuals worldwide. The total value of their sponsorships and the projects implemented for them and their families exceeded QR 530 million, benefiting more than two million people during the same year.
Global Reach & Campaigns
Qatar Charity implements its global projects through more than 33 field offices and in partnership with local and international organizations, including UN agencies. Throughout the last year, it signed several key agreements to support its humanitarian and development work. Qatar Charity also organizes regular and emergency relief campaigns to address humanitarian crises, providing support to refugees, IDPs, and other vulnerable groups. Key 2024 campaigns included the Ramadan campaign “Endless Giving”, winter campaigns “‘One Heart” and “How Long”, “Labbeh Gaza”, and “Reviving Hope” for the Syrian people.
