(MENAFN) Qatar Airways has announced that Adient Aerospace, a partnership between car-seat manufacturer Adient and Boeing, will design its new business-class seat. This was revealed on the opening day of the Farnborough International Airshow, where the airline showcased a mock-up of the upcoming QSuite Next-Gen. This innovative seat will be featured on Qatar Airways’ Boeing 777X and Airbus A350 aircraft, with a launch scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025, as stated by Xia Cai, Qatar Airways’ senior vice president of product development.
The new business-class suite marks a departure from the previous version, which was created by Collins Aerospace. Despite the current challenges in the aviation industry, such as shortages of parts including engines and cabin interiors, Qatar Airways is working closely with its suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of the new suite. Cai acknowledged the difficulties but expressed confidence that the suite will be completed on schedule.
Airlines are increasingly investing in their premium cabins to offer more space, privacy, and varied seating options. Qatar Airways’ new business-class cabin will feature taller doors for enhanced privacy and lighter materials for improved environmental sustainability. Cai emphasized that the new suite will set a high standard for luxury travel, claiming it will be unmatched in terms of space, comfort, and overall experience for the next decade.
The QSuite Next-Gen will include movable 4K OLED Panasonic Astrova IFE screens, designed to offer a “more cinematic experience.” These screens can be adjusted to the side, creating what Qatar Airways describes as the “largest social and productivity space in the sky.” The suite will feature a Quad Suite option for up to four passengers with enhanced dining and privacy, and a Companion Suite for two passengers. The Quad Suite will offer larger lie-flat beds, double beds, and a turn-down service with a “make my bed” feature, enhancing comfort and functionality.
