DOHA- Under the leadership of ex-CEO Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways (QR) has grown rapidly across all fronts, which includes becoming the Most followed Airline on Social Media channels.

Qatar Airways has nearly doubled its social media followers across all channels in the last 4-5 years. After analyzing multiple global airlines, the Aviation A2Z team has come across the following information on top airlines on social media.

Recently, Qatar Airways revealed that they are now the number-one airline across social channels in the world with 47 million followers. It holds the number one position on Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.

Some carriers such as AirAsia Group, Emirates Group, Singapore Airlines Group, and Qantas Group are also some of the most followed airlines.

In 2020, Qatar Airways had 26 million followers across all social media channels. It has been Number 1 on Facebook since 2014.

Now, the Doha-based carrier is under the leadership of the new CEO Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer as Akbar Al Baker stepped down last year after serving for 27 years or since the launch of Qatar’s national carrier.
