Qatar Airways Group offers insights to its financial performance, network expansion and sustainability engagement.
At its annual investors’ meeting, which was hosted in Doha during the first week of October, Qatar Airways has outlined its vision for the next the next 12 months and beyond.
Under the theme “New Era of Dynamic and Sustainable Partnership”, the company outlined its efforts to drive long-term success and excellence to aviation bankers, lessors and insurers.
During the 2023-2024 fiscal year, Qatar delivered the strongest financial performance in the airline’s 27-year history. It reported net profits of QAR 6.1 billion and a total revenue of QAR 81 billion. The carrier, which operates one of the youngest fleets in the industry, was also voted the World’s Bet Airline at the Skytrax 2024 awards.
“As we embark on a new chapter in our airline’s success story, innovation, sustainability and collaboration will guide our efforts to deliver long-term financial health, sustainably enhancing our global footprint and setting new benchmarks in travel solutions and passenger experiences,” said Qatar Airways Group CEO Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer.
“By maintaining customers and employees at the heart of our operations, we are ensuring continued growth and excellence for Qatar Airways Group for years to come,” he added.
The airline is currently expanding its fleet with 94 Boeing 777X commercial and cargo aircraft on order. It is also investing in digital technologies and innovative solutions to elevate its product offerings and at this year’s Farnborough International Airshow unveiled its ‘QSuite Next Gen’, which is due to debut by 2026 on Qatar’s B777-9 aircraft.
Sustainability also remains at the top of the airline’s agenda. It was the first airline int eh Middle East to join the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO’s) Global Coalition for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), has secured an offtake agreement for 25 million gallons of neat SAF and was the first carrier to join the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA’s) C02NNECT platform.
