Qatar Airways Executive Club members can now earn frequent flyer points when they charter private jet flights via Qatar Executive.
By our calculation, one transatlantic one-way charter flight could yield five free first-class international redemption tickets.
Qatar Airways Head of Loyalty Thomas Vadakedath said, “As Privilege Club continues to augment the loyalty program with exclusive experiences for our members, we are proud to collaborate with Qatar Executive.”
He added, “Members who prefer flying in the comfort of private charters can now collect Avios when making their bookings with Qatar Executive.”
The executive noted, “Members can now also choose to experience the luxury of Qatar Executive by paying for their flight, either in full or part with Avios.”
Avios are Qatar Executive’s frequent flyer program currency, shared with British Airways and Iberia.
Executive Club members can also pool Avios between family members.
Privilege Club members booking their first Qatar Executive charter flight receive four complimentary tier upgrades in the program.
You receive one Platinum tier and three Gold tier memberships.
You can award the elevated status to family members, friends, or business colleagues.
Qatar Executive VP Trevor Esling said, “As we continue to set the standard for business aviation, our partnership with Qatar Airways Privilege Club further enhances the exclusive benefits we offer to our clientele.”
The flight provider operates the world’s largest fleet of Gulfstream G650ERs.
It is the launched fleet customer for the G700.
Wheels Up members can earn status on Delta Air Lines by spending money with the private aviation flight provider.
Last year it offered up to 600,000 SkyMiles in a promotion based on funding your account for future flights.
However, members don’t receive points on a per-flight basis.
We estimate the standard rate at $18,000 per hour.
Qatar Executive operates its aircraft globally as a floating fleet, so an eight-hour flight between the U.S. and Europe would cost around $144,000 each way.
That would yield 576,000 Avios.
According to The Points Guy, a one-way business class reward ticket between New York and Doha ranges between 70,000 and 140,000 Avios.
Partner redemptions for first-class flights between 4,000 and 5,000 miles are 103,000 Avios.
Partners with international first-class include British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Japan Airlines, and Qantas.
That means a transatlantic charter flight could yield five first-class tickets worth at least $25,000 to $50,000.
One Mile At A Time, a website that covers travel-related loyalty programs and credit cards, first reported the move.
