Qatar Airways has revealed its latest innovation in luxury air travel, the “Qsuite Next Gen”, a significant upgrade to their award-winning business class offering.
The unveiling took place in July 2024 at Farnborough International Airshow and featured a presentation by Sama, an AI Digital Human cabin crew member who showcased the airline’s commitment to innovation.
The Qsuite Next Gen offers several enhancements, including fully customisable Quad Suites and Companion Suites in window aisles. A standout feature is the introduction of 4K OLED manoeuvrable in-flight entertainment screens, an industry first. The redesigned suites also offer increased space and privacy.
The Quad Suite now allows for a larger social and productivity space, accommodating up to four passengers, while the Companion Suite caters for two – designed to “facilitate a mindful work-life balance”. .
Other notable improvements include larger lie-flat and double beds, enhanced dining spaces, and taller, digitally controlled dividers for added privacy. The suites also feature advanced customisation options for ambient lighting and privacy controls through upgraded touchscreen Passenger Control Units.
Qatar Airways plans to introduce the Qsuite Next Gen on their Boeing B777-9 aircraft by 2025.
The airline also presented its Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner and Qatar Executive’s new Gulfstream G700 at the airshow. The Dreamliner, which entered service in 2021, features the Adient Ascent Business Class Suite with sliding privacy doors and wireless mobile device charging.
Qatar Executive, the airline’s private jet charter division, has expanded its fleet with four additional Gulfstream G700 aircraft, with plans for six more in the next 18 months.
These aircraft offer spacious cabins with four living areas, including a private rear stateroom with a fixed bed.
