The Purdue men’s basketball season begins Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, when the Boilermakers host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Purdue is coming off a national championship appearance, and returns three starters from that team: Braden Smith, Fletcher Loyer and Trey Kaufman-Renn. The Boilermakers have other key returnees and a large and promising freshman class. Coach Matt Painter is starting his 20th season.
The Islanders finished second in the Southland Conference in 2024 with a 21-12 overall record. Leading scorers Garry Clark (13.2 points per game, 8.1 rebounds) and Dian Wright-Ford (10.4) return. Two Indiana products play for TAMCC: Shilo Jackson (North Central High School, 6.4 points, 4.0 rebounds last season) and Owen Dease (Evansville Reitz, 7.2 points, 3.7 rebounds). Jim Shaw is the coach.
Purdue hosts Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 6 p.m. ET Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Indiana.

“The Boilermakers are still working with their lineup compositions, but that doesn’t mean they will play with their food. Only concern is whether they’ll be too hyped up from the pregame national runner-up banner-raising ceremony.”
