On the afternoon of October 31 (local time), during the official visit to the State of Qatar, Prime minister Pham Minh Chinh received Qatar’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali bin Mohammed Al Mannai.
Cybersecurity cooperation, opening business center
At the meeting, the Prime Minister hoped that the two sides would have specific cooperation projects, especially in the fields of cyber security, building national and specialized data centers; and requested Qatar to provide preferential loans, technology transfer and human resource training for Vietnam in these fields.
Qatar’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology said that the two sides had ministerial-level discussions and agreed to promote cooperation in the fields of telecommunications, semiconductors, data centers; and cooperation on cyber security, including infrastructure, science, technology and law.
The Minister hopes that Vietnam will open a technology business center in Qatar to produce products and provide services to meet the needs of this country and the region.
Accordingly, Qatar will establish a working group to connect and promote cooperation with Vietnam in this field.
Vietnam has large technology and telecommunications companies, such as Viettel, ftp extension… has produced 5G equipment, Prime Minister Goverment welcomes the opening of a Vietnamese technology business center in Qatar.
Believing that this is a completely feasible idea, the head of the Vietnamese Government proposed a cooperation formula: financial resources from Qatar, human resources from Vietnam on the basis of the relationship between the two countries will certainly produce products.
“The formula is there, but to produce a product, it requires the “blood and fire” of the two ministers. I hope the two ministers will be able to do this,” the Prime Minister said after working hard to the end with the spirit of saying what you say is doing, committing to doing it to produce a product that can be measured.
“We make use of time and intelligence. Time waits for no one, intelligence must go beyond oneself to accomplish great things. Accepting risks is the only way to make breakthroughs,” the Prime Minister concluded.
Promoting cooperation in sending high-quality workers to Qatar
Receiving Mr. Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh Al Marri, Minister of Labor of Qatar, the Prime Minister suggested that the two sides continue to promote labor cooperation in a more in-depth, sustainable, stable and systematic manner. In particular, it is necessary to promote negotiations on labor agreements and sign them at an appropriate time, and support the construction of Vietnamese labor training centers.
Qatar’s Minister of Labor assessed that labor cooperation between the two countries has achieved many results, but the potential is still very large.
Currently, the number of Vietnamese workers in Qatar is still modest (nearly 1.000 people), while Qatar has a great demand for foreign workers, receiving workers from Vietnam. Including workers in the fields of hotels, restaurants, medical, education, transportation…
Therefore, it is necessary to speed up negotiations and sign agreements to send more Vietnamese workers to Qatar, as well as agree with the Prime Minister on the importance of building labor training centers in Vietnam.
He suggested that both sides discuss and coordinate with the International Labor Organization (ILO) to implement the construction of these centers.
