First Look: The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team makes its first appearance of the spring this week at the Westbrook Invitational in Peoria, Ariz. The Mocs face a stern test at Westbrook Village Golf Club in the event hosted by Wisconsin. The field includes four top 50 teams and nine in the top 100 including the Mocs.

Notes

• First entry into the Westbrook Village Invitational. It’s one of three new events on the docket in 2024-25 already playing in New Mexico’s Dick McGuire Invite and with the Florida State Match Up to come in March.
• Cooper, Fernandez-Tagle, Kera Healey & Giulia Foresta have started every tournament of their Chattanooga careers.
• Fernandez-Tagle is 13 over for the season (72.33 average). Career average is 72.69 through 15 events.
• Cooper has two career wins – 2023 Evie Odom & 2024 Chris Banister. A third win would make her the fourth Moc with three or more in their career: Emma de Groot ’11 (6), Dorota Zalewska ‘ 23 (4) & Emily McLennan ’16 (3).
• Cooper gets to play close to home. The Litchfield Park, Ariz., native is just 13 miles away from home for the tournament in Peoria.
• Foresta is proving to be a “closer”. She’s averaging 71.00 strokes per final 18 with three par or better cards and two in the 60s. She’s coming off her first career top 5 tying for fourth (E) at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate.
