The January transfer window is almost here and we are making our predictions for the Premier League clubs and players.

Which clubs will make big moves? Which players could be on the move to and from Premier League clubs?

Below we have a go and predicting how a crazy month will play out.

Which Premier League clubs will be the busiest in January transfer window?

There are a few clubs who stand out as wanting to be particularly active in the January window:

Manchester City — A Rodri replacement is essential but it has to be a player who can play short-term as a holding midfield but long-term as No. 6/8). Plus more defenders who can stay fit are crucial. A right back and left back are especially needed.
Tottenham Hotspur — Defensive reinforcements are key, while another central holding midfield is also a necessity. Ange Postecoglou has plenty of talented young players but he needs some extra experience as back ups in the short-term. There’s nothing wrong with buying a few reliable, solid players to supplement the development of talented youngsters. Spurs have to strengthen the depth of their squad.
Southampton — If new manager Ivan Juric picks up a few points in the next few games then Saints will have a real go in the January window as they try to salvage their awful first half of the season. They have a massive squad and there will be a lot of churn in and out.
Wolves — See above. Vitor Pereira has made a huge difference with two wins from two and if Wolves can keep Matheus Cunha, they’ll be looking to add some defensive cover and perhaps a goalkeeper. If they lose Cunha they will be spending big to replace him.
Everton — They have new owners, which is a huge relief, but the Toffees still have to abide by PSRs. Still, there should be some extra cash to strengthen their attack and that is what Sean Dyche would love to do, especially with Dominic Calvert-Lewin out of contract this summer.
Arsenal — Arsenal’s defensive injuries have left them pretty bare at the back, while they could also make a big move for a striker as they try and eat away at Liverpool’s lead atop the table. Arsenal are in a very good position financially and this feels like a moment they can spend big to really push Liverpool all the way for the title. Can they afford to sign the likes of Isak, Gyokeres or Vlahovic in January though?

Which Premier League players could be on the move in the January transfer window?

There are plenty of names already mentioned and throw in a new manager at Manchester United, well-known injury problems at Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham, and the potential for plenty of teams to be in the title race (and plenty more than that in the top four, European hunt and the relegation scrap) and we can expect a busy winter window.

That said, Premier League clubs do have to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSRs) so the trend in recent January windows has been for plenty of loans. Here are a few players who could be on the move and names you should keep an eye on:

Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) — Hasn’t featured for United since being dropped from the squad for the Manchester derby on Dec. 15. Then said he “wants a new challenge” and Ruben Amorim hasn’t been too positive about him in the media since then. It’s a shame Rashford is going to leave his boyhood club but perhaps it’s best for everyone. Perhaps a loan move in January is the best way to start? The only issue is who on earth can afford his wages? Rashford is obviously a fine player and finisher when he’s on form but his confidence is low and he hasn’t looked sharp for some time.
Matheus Cunha (Wolves) — His stock has risen dramatically over the last two seasons and he’s been superb for Wolves this season. Cunha is perhaps the best player outside of the ‘big six’ and most of them will want him. His new manager Pereira has already talked about hoping they can hold on the Brazilian forward. The likes of Arsenal, Spurs and Man United will all surely be searching for a player of his quality in the final third.
Martin Zubimendi (Real Sociedad) — He has a $63 million release clause in his contract and almost joined Liverpool in the summer, and Zubimendi would be the perfect player Manchester City need in midfield. He would be the short-term solution to Rodri’s absence and long-term he could play alongside Rodri. The Spanish international midfield is excellent on the ball and would give City some much-needed balance in midfield.
Dani Olmo (Barcelona) — There is a really strange situation developing around Barcelona forward Dani Olmo. As the Catalan club continue to struggle with getting their finances sorted, they may not be able to register Olmo to play for the second half of the season. That means he could be able to leave on a free and plenty of Premier League giants are willing to sign him. Man City, Man United and Arsenal have all been linked and will pounce if Barca can’t figure it out.
Dusan Vlahovic (Juventus) — Arsenal have been after a clinical finisher for a while and Vlahovic clearly fits the bill. This move would be harsh on Havertz but the German can play in midfield, while Vlahovic finishing off the wonderful crosses and set pieces Arsenal whip into the box is a perfect pairing. This move in January seems more likely, and less expensive, than Arsenal signing Gyokeres or Isak.

Callum Wilson (Newcastle United) — His season so far has been badly impacted by injuries but several teams in midtable and further down are keen to secure the experienced clinical finisher on loan. Can he stay fit? If he can he will be a huge asset to a team struggling to score goals.
Danny Ings (West Ham United) — Basically exactly the same as above. Ings has been getting more minutes under Lopetegui this season and has been helpful late on off the bench to grab more points. But if Ings wants to start games then clubs will be lining up to sign him on loan.
Evan Ferguson (Brighton) — The Republic of Ireland international seems set for a move away with Fabian Hurzeler speaking openly about his attitude. Ferguson was excellent when he burst onto the scene as a teenager but has barely played recently due to injuries and obviously issues behind-the-scenes. A top 10 Premier League team would love to take Ferguson and help him fulfill his obvious potential.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Ben Chilwell (Chelsea) — Dewsbury-Hall has been playing in the Conference League squad for Chelsea but will he fancy a move out on loan to play regularly in the Premier League? Chelsea’s bloated squad may see a few players moving out on loan this winter as Dewsbury-Hall, Chilwell and Chukwuemeka are prime candidates to head elsewhere.
Jadon Sancho (Chelsea, on loan from Man United) — Perhaps we could see Jadon Sancho moving back to Old Trafford now that Erik ten Hag has been sacked? It would be a clean slate for Sancho under new boss Ruben Amorim. It all depends on his injury situation but he could fit as one of the No. 10’s in Amorim’s favored 3-4-2-1 system. Does he want to leave Chelsea though?
Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa (Brentford) — This duo have been flying for the Bees so far this season and even though it’s unlikely Brentford will sell either, and definitely not both, this January, big clubs are circling. If the title race is tight, could Mbeumo or Wissa be the proven finisher and impact player some of the big boys desperately need?
Antonee Robinson (Fulham) — The USMNT star has emerged as one of the best left backs in the Premier League. Some huge clubs are circling and the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City all have issues at left back. Robinson would command a big fee after only recently renewing his Fulham contract.
