It was quite the sight for a man walking his dog near a golf course in England.
According to a Facebook post for Northenden Golf Club, an 18-hole course near Manchester, England, a frozen Porsche Taycan was found on the course covered in debris after “River Mersey burst its banks and caused widespread flooding,” according to a story by the Manchester Evening News, “with over 400 people rescued on boats from their homes and a nearby hotel.”
The sticker price for the base model of that vehicle is just shy of $100,000.
Russell Miller told the Manchester Evening News:
“We have a dog, and she’s only a puppy, and I took her out for a walk this morning. There’s trees blocking the road. I went down the river towards West Didsbury. We carried on walking and I climbed over the bank and looked at the golf course, and the whole place was like a lake,” he said. Russell then spotted the Porsche, with the car having been covered in ice after the freezing overnight temperatures. It was covered in debris. “It had been dragged across the course by the floods. The floods must have taken it halfway along the fairway.”
As for the golf course, it opened in 1913 and currently measures 6,460 yards.
“Set in the Mersey Valley and ringed by the River Mersey, Northenden provides a tricky but enjoyable test of golf in tranquil and picturesque surroundings,” the website for the golf course reads. “Visitors are afforded a very warm welcome and we are certain you will enjoy our course.”
The area now waits for the water to recede and for the clean up to begin.
