Police investigate killing at Kent disc golf course
KENT — Investigators in Kent say a 24-year-old man was shot in the head and killed on a disc golf course.
Around 9:30 a.m., someone called 911 to report a dead body in the woods at the Lake Fenwick Disc Golf Course.
Officers found the victim dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to the head. Kent police said they believe the man died sometime Thursday night or early Friday morning.
The park is frequently used by groups of disc golfers who also take care of the course and surrounding trails.
“There’s a lot of active people who come here and use this park,” said Jason Kenway, a member of one of the park’s disc golf groups. “We just came here and thought we were going to come play some frisbee. A police officer said they’re actively investigating a homicide. It’s pretty sad what’s happening.”
Investigators remained at the scene Friday afternoon and appeared to be taking 3D scans of the area.
