ROCK HILL, S.C. (WBTV) – A 16-year-old was charged Monday related to a deadly crash that happened in a Rock Hill, S.C. subdivision one month prior.
The crash happened the night of July 25 on the 4200 block of Laurel Creek Drive and involved a Honda CRV and golf cart.
Police said they found the golf cart had been flipped over and was hit head-on by the CRV, which was traveling in the wrong direction “in gross excess of the speed limit.”

One of the riders in the golf cart, a 15-year-old, was killed at the scene and three others were injured.
The driver of the CRV was identified as a 16-year-old. Police said that his speed “showed a reckless disregard for the safety of others.”
He was charged on Aug. 26 with reckless homicide and was petitioned to Family Court.
No other information will be released because he is a juvenile.
