MANILA — Jeffrey de Luna of the Philippines bowed out in the semifinals as his tormentor Daniel Maciol of Poland captured the 2024 Qatar 10-Ball World Cup title at the Ezdan Palace Hotel in Doha, Qatar, on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

De Luna bowed to Maciol, 2-11, in their semis matchup.

Maciol overwhelmed Austria’s Mario He, 13-4, in the finals. His victory earned him the lion’s share of the $450,000 total prize pool, with $100,000 awarded to the champion—the largest purse ever for a 10-ball event. This marks a significant achievement in Maciol’s career, following his victory at the Polish Dynamic Billard 10-Ball Open earlier this year.

On his journey to the final, Maciol defeated Ruslan Chinahov of Russia, 11-7, in the Round of 16, and Alex Kazakis of Greece, 11-7, in the quarterfinals.

De Luna, although disappointed with his third-place finish, expressed his gratitude on Facebook: “I’d like to thank the QBSF and WPA for inviting me to this prestigious event and all our kababayans who supported us since Day 1.
