Players and captains of 15 of the 20 participating teams of Meghna Bank Dhaka first division cricket league met Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Faruque Ahmed at the BCB offices at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today.
A BCB press release stated that they expressed their concern with the uncertainty surrounding holding of the league.
The BCB President told the cricketers that the board totally understands the importance of the league in respect of their career and livelihood.
He also assured them that the board will give every effort to get the competition underway as early as realistically possible, the release added.
The league was stopped after a recent tension between Dhaka-based cricket clubs and BCB over the proposed constitutional amendments.
