Long Island’s new Planet Fitness is celebrating the opening of its fitness facility in Plainview with a party.

On Sept. 12, the new 17,000-square-foot health club at 40 Manetto Hill Mall will host a grand opening ceremony. The event will have a block party feel with promotions, giveaways, local vendors and music by KJOY 98.3, a spokesperson for the gym told Greater Long Island.

Planet Fitness Plainview officially swung open its doors on Aug. 27.

Planet Fitness, known for its “Judgement Free Zone” slogan, has other nearby locations in Massapequa, Levittown, Hicksville, Merrick, and Melville. The chain has over 2,600 locations across the United States, Mexico, Canada, Australia, and Panama.

Eighteen new Planet Fitness facilities opened in the second quarter of 2024, between March 31 and June 30.

Long Island, which already has more than 20 locations across Nassau and Suffolk counties, will see its next gym on the Island open later this month in Shirley, at the South Port Shopping Mall on 999 Montauk Highway. The franchise’s Google Maps page indicates that the Shirley club will open on Sept. 15.
