Bucs out to end tour of Spain with victory against Qatari
giants
Orlando Pirates are keen to end their tour of Spain with a
second win in four matches when they face Qatar Stars League
champions on Friday.
Orlando Pirates will hope to keep their unbeaten run intact when
they face Qatari champions Al-Sadd in their fourth match in Spain
at the Banus Football Centre on Friday.
Pirates have recorded one win and two draws during their tour of
Spain and face the Qatar Stars League winners brimming with
confidence.
Preview
The Buccaneers’ last match was a 1-1 draw with Granada when new
signing Gilberto opened his account after getting on the end of a
Patrick Maswanganyi pass and coach Jose Riveiro will be expecting
much more on Friday.
Pirates started their off-season build-up with a 2-2 draw
against Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth before a morale-boosting 2-0
victory over La Liga side Sevilla.
There is confidence in the Pirates camp that a return to winning
ways is possible although Al-Sadd, who won the league and Emir Cup
double, come into the match on the back of a good result.
Al Sadd recorded an 8-0 win over Gibraltar Football League
outfit Manchester and should give the Soweto giants a few
problems.
