WALNUT CREEK, CA — A yearslong wait has come to an end: Pinstripes opens Friday at Broadway Plaza, bringing 150 jobs and a “sophisticated, fun atmosphere” to Walnut Creek.
The experiential dining and entertainment venue was first set to open at 1115 Broadway Plaza in 2022, then pushed back to fall 2023, then rescheduled for spring 2024—and now we can confirm that it is really happening.
It marks the brand’s second Bay Area location and 18th nationwide. Pinstripes features a full-service bistro with Italian-American cuisine and handcrafted cocktails, eight bowling lanes, two indoor bocce courts and private event spaces for groups of up to 1,500.
Occupying 25,000 square feet along South Main Street, the 100-seat bistro with restaurant-style seating allows guests to enjoy their meals at booths, tables surrounding the bar, or in front of big-screen TVs airing major sporting events on the expansive upstairs and downstairs outdoor patios.
“As a distinctive experiential venue, the addition of Pinstripes will enhance our shopping destination, providing our guests with yet another vibrant space to create memories with their family and friends,” said Aaron Keswick, vice president of Macerich, the company that owns and operates Broadway Plaza.
“Opening Pinstripes at Broadway Plaza is an exciting addition to the center, and we look forward to introducing its sophisticated fun atmosphere to our community,” Keswick said.
Upon opening in Walnut Creek, Pinstripes will complement its sister location in San Mateo and host many private corporate and social events, targeting over 1,000 events within its first year of operation, with events ranging in size from 20-1,500 guests —making it a true social hub for Walnut Creek and surrounding communities.
Pinstripes Walnut Creek is close to attractions such as The Lesher Center for the Arts, Mount Diablo State Park, Lindsay Wildlife Museum, and more East Bay destinations.
Pinstripes strives to be an active community member and is already partnering with local schools, sports organizations, and various other establishments — with dates set for hosting social events for Mahjong clubs, singles mixers, line dancing, salsa dancing and fitness-focused groups.
“Pinstripes is excited to open in Walnut Creek, offering nearby residents and businesses a new hotspot to revel in dining, entertainment, and memories,” said Dale Schwartz, founder and CEO. “We extend a warm welcome to our inaugural guests, inviting them to indulge in culinary delights, immersive entertainment, and memorable gatherings.”
The menu at Pinstripes features made-from-scratch Italian-American classics and rotating seasonal specialties prepared with fresh and locally sourced ingredients.
Menu highlights include hand-stretched pizzas and flatbreads, like the Legendary Lobster; sandwiches such as the Famous Prime Rib Dip or the Spicy Chicken Sandwich; and chef entrées such as the Chicken Parmesan or the Filet Mignon Trio. See the dinner menu and lunch menu.
Diners can ask for gluten-free flatbread/pizza crust. Pinstripes also has a Vegan menu.
Dessert choices include New York Style Cheesecake, the Celebration Sundae and more.
Pinstripes Walnut Creek offers its Pintastic Weekend Brunch Buffet every Saturday and Sunday and Happy Hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. every weekday.
With the opening of the Walnut Creek location, Pinstripes will bring an estimated 150 new jobs.
“We have not filled all the roles yet; we have hired our initial opening team, but we are always looking for talent out there,” Lida Ahn, a Pinstripes spokesperson, told Patch. “Anyone interested can apply on our ‘careers’ page on our website, or here is the link directly to our Walnut Creek location.”
Pinstripes Walnut Creek is open for lunch and dinner Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
