Pedestrian killed in Bloomington shopping center parking lot
A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon in the parking lot of Empire Plaza Shopping Center in Bloomington.
The incident happened a little before 2 p.m. Police said the person was pronounced dead at the scene in the 1600 block of East Empire Street, near Veterans Parkway.
Police are asking anyone who saw the incident to contact them at (309) 820-8888.
The incident is under investigation by the Bloomington Police Department, the McLean County Accident Reconstruction Team, and the McLean County coroner. An autopsy is pending.
