New dates for the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy will be announced soon.
LAHORE (Web Desk) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has postponed the key First Class tournament, the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
Originally set to begin on October 20, the tournament has been delayed due to unresolved details for this season.
Sources indicated that new dates for the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy will be announced soon as the approval from Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi was pending.
Regional teams were preparing for the tournament, but final team selections and schedules were yet to be established.
This is not the first instance of the PCB altering domestic cricket schedules; the Under-19 tournament was also suspended on its opening day earlier this season.
As a backup plan, the PCB’s domestic department has advised departments to remain prepared for the President’s Trophy.
If further delays occur for the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, the first-class tournament for departments will be held first, originally scheduled to start on January 6.
