This trade aligns with the draft value chart, as it reflects the Patriots’ aggressive approach to moving up and securing their franchise left tackle, while also gaining the valuable fifth-year option. Wyatt Milum is expected to rise into the top 15 once the combine reveals his true measurements, though he is currently considered a fringe first-rounder by many analysts.
In my opinion, he is one of the best tackles in this class and a more natural fit at the position compared to LSU’s Will Campbell, who is likely to follow the Peter Skoronski path and transition inside to guard. Either way, Milum would provide immediate stability on the left side protecting Drake Maye’s blindside from Day 1.
