Joe Harrington: Dear Drew, The first game of the season with the rooftop open, it was awesome. I sit up in 633 and thought it might be a little warmer than usual, but with the AC on it was perfect football weather. Do the Texans have plans for opening the roof more often, weather permitting?
DD: Joe, if the weather is right, they’ll open the roof. But the Texans don’t arbitrarily look at the calendar and decide ‘We will open the roof on November 15,’ etc. If it’s above 80 degrees or below 60 degrees, they aren’t likely to open it for a day game.
David Hyde; Dear Drew, When are we supposed to get Nico Collins back?
DD: David, Collins went on the injured reserve prior to the Week 6 win at New England, and must sit out a minimum of four games, total. He was out at Green Bay, and can’t play Sunday against the Colts or on Halloween at the Jets.
Therefore, if he’s healthy, he would be eligible to return for the Sunday-nighter at home against the Lions on November 10.
Brendan Neragupta: Dear Drew, How does someone get a job with the Texans?
DD: Brendan, first things first: make sure you’ve created a profile on teamworkonline.com. It’s a jobsite for sports careers, and the Texans use it for hiring. Then, check out the job openings by scrolling to the very bottom of our homepage—HoustonTexans.com—and click on “Employment” which is underneath the “Connect with Us” column.
