Stefan Kendal Gordy, 49, or “Redfoo,” made his professional tennis debut in Egypt’s M15 Sharm El Sheikh. It is part of the ITF Men’s World Tennis Tour. There may be some dispute about whether this was his actual debut. Tennis World notes Gordy initially jumped to professional tennis in September 2016.
He won the first set of the qualifying round 6-0. Gordy then progressed to the tournament, where he played Norway’s Leyton Rivera. Unfortunately, he lost the match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0.
Gordy uploaded footage of the match to his Instagram account and was gracious for the opportunity.
“I lost the match, but this was my best point. Good match and good luck, Leyton Rivers,” he said.
In 2013, Gordy tried to make the U.S. Open., playing in the USTA Northern California Sectional qualifying tournament. He was knocked out in the first round, losing 6–1, 6–2 in his first match, as reported by ESPN.
