We have two impressive women’s doubles semifinal matches upcoming at the Paris Olympics, and they should be fun to watch on Friday. As always, we here at LastWordOnTennis predict every match. Who will go on to the Gold Medal match and who will fall to Bronze? Predicting this match are Jordan Reynolds, Manuel Traquete, and Shane Black.
Jordan:
I think whichever pair wins this match are strong favourites to win the final. Although Noskova and Muchova combine very well as a team, Errani and Paolini have been the most impressive pair at the tournament so far. Their tactical understanding together is superb and that gives them a great chance of reaching the final.
Prediction: Errani and Paolini in 2
Manuel:
The Czech team has been struggling a lot in every round, but somehow always finding a way through, and are now vying for a medal. The Italian team has been arguably the most impressive one in this tournament so far though and they should have the clear edge here.
Prediction: Errani and Paolini in 2
Shane:
Muchova and Noskova are a formidable doubles duo with an evident on-court rapport. However, Errani and Paolini are tough to battle against on the clay. This should be an exciting matchup to watch, but I see the Czechs’ power leading them to the gold medal match.
Prediction: Muchova and Noskova in 3

Jordan:
Both pairs have surprised me so far. Andreeva and Shnaider’s performance against the defending champions Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova was outstanding. The Spaniards have had a great run, but if Shnaider and Andreeva are near their level from the last match, they will be very tough to stop. I think that is something they’ll manage.
Prediction: Shnaider and Andreeva in 2
Manuel:
It should be a very close match here, Busca and Sorribes Tormo are the more experienced duo, but Andreeva and Shnaider are two promising young players who just keep rising and who have been very impressive in this tournament. It should be very close either way, most likely decided in the match tiebreak.
Prediction: Shnaider and Andreeva in 2
Shane:
The Spaniards have united to do some damage this week at the Paris Olympics. Bucsa and Sorribes Tormo play doubles fairly often and are currently ranked inside the world’s Top 20. Andreeva tends to struggle in high-pressure matches. It will be tough for her and Shnaider to overcome the Spaniards.
Prediction: Bucsa and Sorribes Tormo in 2
