CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A parent was arrested Tuesday night during a basketball game between Taft and Woodward high schools, district officials confirmed.
The fight happened during the junior varsity game at Robert A. Taft Information Technology High School.
According to Cincinnati Public School officials, the Cincinnati Police Department was providing security at the game when an officer called for assistance. Several nearby officers responded to the call.
Police ended up clearing the gym and arrested a parent, the district said.
Students involved in the altercation will face disciplinary action, the district wrote, however, they did not say if anyone was involved.
“CPS condemns violence of any kind and works to provide our students with resources to resolve conflicts without resulting in violence,” CPS wrote in a statement.
As for the basketball game, the Taft-Woodward varsity match was postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.
