Pakistan vs West Indies Live Score, 1st Test Day 2 (Pakistan National Cricket Team vs West Indies National Cricket Team): Half-centuries from Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan revived Pakistan to 143/4 after top-order batters stumbled in the 1st test against West Indies on Friday.
Shakeel made a gritty unbeaten 56 and Rizwan was not out on 51 on Day 1 as they rebuilt Pakistan on a tricky dry wicket tailor-made for spinners.
The start of the Test match between the two bottom-placed teams in the World Test Championship was delayed by four hours because of heavy fog and mist in Multan. Fast bowler Jayden Seales’ (3/21) triple strike then left Pakistan reeling at 46-4 inside the first hour.
But Shakeel and Rizwan steadied the innings with their unbroken 97-run stand and upped the scoring rate in an hour-long last session which produced 57 runs.
Mohammad Rizwan was the key wicket for West Indies but he too fell in the phase where a lot was happening. West Indies stuck to the basics and let the ball do the job. On a raging pitch which was offering a lot, West Indies bowled spinners. It was surprising to see Gudakesh Motie not bowl much but Jomel Warrican and Kevin Sinclair did the job today, before the Jayden Seales show which wrapped the top order for not much on the board. This is a decent total on a turning track. Pakistan will come hard against an inexperienced West Indies side. They have to be very careful. Join us back after the Lunch break for the second session.
That’s a fine recovery from West Indies and they will be happy with how they have bowled. A quick word from Kraigg Brathwaite to his players are they leave the field. Jomel Warrican and Kevin Sinclair bowled throughout the session. Pakistan were on top before the drinks break, the duo of Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan added more than 100 and looked in control of their innings but first ball after the first hour saw a lapse in concentration from Shakeel as he edged one to the keeper and that started a downfall.
68.5 – OUT! GONE! Jomel Warrican wrap things up! Flat and angling on the pads. Khan goes back to flick but misses and gets hit on the inner pads. It deflects and knocks the top of off. Unfortunate end to his innings. Pakistan are bowled out for 230!
