The Packers just needed a win on Monday night to clinch a playoff berth, and they got it in their easiest victory of the year. Green Bay routed the Saints 34-0, earning the first shutout in the NFL this season and punching their ticket to the postseason.

From the get-go, the Packers took control of the game. Green Bay scored touchdowns on each of its first three drives of the game, opening up a 21-point lead in the first 24 minutes of action. The Packers offense ran the ball 39 times for 188 yards and three scores, as nine different players registered a carry for the team.

With the win, the Packers are now 11-4 but still in third place in the NFC North. Green Bay is unable to win the division this year, but they can still get the No. 5 seed if things go their way in the final two games.

Next week, the Packers head to Minnesota for a key matchup with the 13-2 Vikings, who beat Green Bay earlier this year. So far this season, all four of the Packers’ losses have come against the three best teams in the NFC, as Green Bay is 0-4 vs. the Lions, Vikings, and Eagles.

As for the Saints, New Orleans was officially eliminated from playoff contention earlier in the week, and this loss marks their worst of the season. They are now 5-10 on the year and close out the season at home against the Raiders and on the road in Tampa Bay.

Spencer Rattler got the start for the Saints, but he struggled all night as he totaled just 153 passing yards and two turnovers. New Orleans notably was without most of their best players on offense, as Derek Carr, Alvin Kamara, Chris Olave, Taysom Hill, and even Marquez Valdes-Scantling missed this game due to injuries.

11:07 p.m.: Rattler’s fourth-down pass from midfield is incomplete, which should be the end of the game. The Saints will be the first team this year to be shutout.

10:59 p.m.: At the two-minute warning, the Saints are trying to drive for their first points of the game.

10:55 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Emanuel Wilson caps the drive with a touchdown, the Packers’ fourth of the night.

10:53 p.m.: The Packers instead keep their offense on the field, and Willis fires a laser to Jayden Reed down the field for a 34-yard first down.

10:52 p.m.: Willis’ first set of downs is a three-and-out, but he would’ve had Wicks for a score if Saints DT Khalen Saunders didn’t knock the pass down.

10:50 p.m.: Green Bay has pulled Love from this blowout, so Malik Willis will take the offense the rest of the way.

10:47 p.m.: An offensive holding penalty backs the Saints up on their drive, and they are unable to make up the yardage which forces a 4th-and-7. Rattler’s deep pass to Pettis on fourth down is almost picked, but the Packers will get the ball with great field position nonetheless.

10:39 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! McManus nails his second field goal of the game.

10:38 p.m.: The Packers are able to get into field goal range, but the drive stalls when Love throws an incomplete pass intended for Dontayvion Wicks.

10:35 p.m.: On 3rd-and-12 and pinned along the Packers end zone, Love fires deep to Jayden Reed, who corrals the ball for a 37-yard catch and first down.

10:30 p.m.: The Packers defense stands tall again, forcing two Rattler incompletions that lead to another stalled New Orleans drive.

10:28 p.m.: Rattler completes to Pettis for a 10-yard play on first down to open the drive as New Orleans again will try to score for the first time.

10:23 p.m.: The Saints are able to stop Green Bay short on the next set of downs, as Chris Brooks can’t take a Love check-down to the first down. Green Bay will punt it away.

End of third quarter: Packers 24, Saints 0

10:16 p.m.: Emanuel Wilson is getting the carries this drive, going for 28 yards on three plays to cross midfield.

10:15 p.m.: Love is almost picked right back on a tipped play, but the Saints can’t corral and easy interception.

10:12 p.m.: INTERCEPTION! Rattler turns it over again, this time on an interception in the red zone to Zayne Anderson, giving Green Bay the ball back.

10:11 p.m.: Facing a 3rd-and-17, Rattler fires a strike on a jump-pass to Dante Pettis for 20 yards on the best Saints’ play of the night.

10:10 p.m.: Juwan Johnson’s first catch of the night is a 17-yard gain to get into Packers territory, as New Orleans hopes to finally score some points.

10:08 p.m.: On 3rd-and-long, Rattler scrambles for a nine-yard gain and a first down.

10:03 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Brandon McManus makes a 55-yard attempt to extend the lead to 24.

10:02 p.m.: The Packers try to move the ball through the air, but Love throws two incomplete passes to stal the drive and force a field goal attempt.

10:00 p.m.: Green Bay is staying on the ground for this drive, as Jacobs and Brooks pick up two more first downs to get into Saints territory.

9:58 p.m.: Eight players have run the ball for the Packers tonight, with Bo Melton taking a second-down carry 14 yards for the first down.

9:52 p.m.: Each of the first four plays to open this drive go to Kendre Miller, who picks up 19 yards and sets up a 3rd-and-short. However, Rattler’s pass to Dante Pettis falls incomplete to end the drive.

9:49 pm.: We are back for the second half! Saints get the ball looking for their first points of the night.

9:35 p.m.: The last play of the half is a Rattler Hail Mary that ends up incomplete, as New Orleans comes up empty on the drive.

9:33 p.m.: On first down, Rattler takes a brutal sack all the way back at midfield, setting up a 2nd-and-22 with just nine seconds left.

9:29 p.m.: Rattler and Austin connect on third down for 18 yards to get the Saints on the edge of field-goal range. However, New Orleans let the clock run down to just 15 seconds left in the half before calling timeout.

9:27 p.m.: The Packers are called for a roughing-the-passer penalty on Rattler, which should jumpstart the New Orleans offense.

9:24 p.m.: The Packers do indeed choose to punt for the first time tonight, so the Saints will get a chance at a two-minute drive.

9:22 p.m.: Love takes two shots on deep attempts, but both fall incomplete to potentially end the Packers drive on a three-and-out. Green Bay faces a 4th-and-4 at the two-minute warning.

9:05 p.m.: Love and Kraft are in rhythm tonight, as they connect for another big play, this time for 28 yards to get the Packers back in Saints territory.

9:00 p.m.: The Saints next drive went the wrong way, as New Orleans were backed up to a 2nd-and-18 after a negative play and a penalty. They can’t overcome the long distance and are forced to punt after a three-and-out.

8:54 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Jacobs takes two carries from inside the 15, the first a physical, 12-yard run and the second a two-yard score.

8:53 p.m.: Love and Doubs connect again on 3rd down, but this time the Packers are a few yards short again. However, Green Bay keeps the offense on the field, as Love finds Kraft for a 21-yard completion.

8:50 p.m.: To open the second quarter, Love executes a quarterback sneak that extends the drive and gets Green Bay to the Saints’ 44.

End of first quarter: Packers 7, Saints 0

8:47 p.m.: The Saints stop Emanuel Wilson just short of a first down, but the Packers keep the offense on the field for 4th-and-1, but they let time expire to end the quarter.

8:42 p.m.: On the next set of downs, Love avoids a sack and dumps the ball off to Jacobs who gains eight yards on second down, creating a 3rd-and-2 situation.

8:41 p.m.: Love connects with Romeo Doubs for the first time tonight, converting a 3rd-and-7 to extend the drive.

8:38 p.m.: Backed up within their own 10 on 3rd-and-long, the Packers draw the Saints offsides to create a more manageable 3rd-and-1 and give the ball to Tucker Kraft who rushes for the first down.

8:32 p.m.: On 3rd-and-7, Rattler’s pass to Kevin Austin Jr. is off the mark, to force a fourth down. New Orleans initially leaves the offense on the field, but a false start backs them up and leads to a punt.

8:29 p.m.: The Saints drive opens with a Spencer Rattler scramble for seven yards, followed by a Kendre Miller run for the first down

8:23 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Jordan Love caps the Packers opening drive with a wide-open touchdown to Dontayvion Wicks on 3rd-and-goal.

8:21 p.m.: Green Bay gets the ball three more times to Jacobs, who gets the Packers deep into Saints territory for a 1st-and-goal at the one-yard line after a tough run. Jacobs has 40 total yards on this drive already.
