The racing card at PARX Racing features 11 stakes races and three non-stakes races, offering more than $3.65 million in total purse money.
Gates open at 10 a.m. and the first post is at 11:35 a.m.
Two of the day’s featured races —the Pennsylvania Derby and the Cotillion Stakes —are each $1 million Grade I stakes races that typically serve as a showcase for high-caliber 3-year-old thoroughbreds seeking to secure a spot in the Breeders’ Cup World Championship in November.
The Grade II Gallant Bob, a $400,000 stakes race for 3-year olds, is another feature of the event.
In addition to the thrill of horse racing, attendees can enjoy live music from local band Bigg Romeo, a performance by the Mummers Uptown String Band, food and drink specials, and souvenir swag, including a commemorative hat giveaway while supplies last.
Pony rides and face painting will also be available.
In a milestone partnership, PARX Racing will collaborate with Presque Isle Downs (PID) in Erie to offer the first-ever multi-race wager between the two tracks.
The Pennsylvania Pick 4 and Keystone Daily Double are two exciting new betting options for horse racing fans that will debut on September 20 to be available for The Masters at PID and Pennsylvania Derby Day at PARX. Bets can be placed via any online horse wagering platform, including Twinspires and Phonebet.
