ORANGE BEACH, Ala (WKRG) — The City of Orange Beach held its final winter Golf Cart Re-inspection day at Bear Point Road on Saturday.
The city conducts golf cart inspections to keep track of the users on the island and ensure safety equipment are up to proper standards.
People can bring their golf carts to the inspection and get them checked out.
Last year, more than 800 golf carts and their owners were registered.
City of Orange Beach special projects coordinator Marc Anderson says safety is a high priority for golf cart users. He also says that golf carts are a great alternative to getting around. They can reduce traffic congestion during the tourist season
The city hosts more golf cart inspections in the spring, summer, and fall.
