Schauffele is off to a rock-solid start in Paris with a 6-under 65 in Thursday’s first round and a 5-under 66 on Friday. He pulled into a tie with Day 1 leader Hideki Matsuyama (Japan), who shot 3-under in Round 2, and saw Tommy Fleetwood (Great Britain) charge into the mix with a 7-under 64. Belgium’s Thomas Detry had the round of the day with an 8-under 63.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler fell four spots on the leaderboard, but remains within reach in a three-way in 10th place with his 6-under (67-69). Collin Morikawa (-4) is in a tie for 19th, and Wyndham Clark is on more solid footing after carding a 3-under 68 after Thursday’s 75.
