Good morning! It’s Day 6 of the 2024 Paris Olympics. We’ve got a bumper day of gold medal events for you today, with 18 gold medals up for grabs over the course of the day.
Perhaps most exciting for our readers stateside will be the artistic gymnastics women’s individual all-around final, where Team USA’s Simone Biles will be looking to add to her haul. That’s at 12:15 p.m. ET and 6:15 p.m. local time.
The USA’s swimming team also competes. For the women, Katie Ledecky and the rest of Team USA race in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay at 4:03 p.m. ET and 10:03 p.m. local time. Before that, Regan Smith races in the 200 butterfly at 2:30 p.m. ET and 8:30 p.m. local time. Kate Douglass races for the 200 breaststroke medal at 3:11 p.m. ET and 9:11 p.m. local time.
In men’s swimming, Keaton Jones is perhaps Team USA’s best hope in the 200 backstroke event at 2:38 p.m. ET and 8:38 p.m. local time.
In nonmedal events, the Team USA women’s basketball team plays Belgium at 3:00 p.m. ET and 9:00 p.m. local time; and in tennis, Tommy Paul takes on Carlos Alcaraz in the men’s singles quarterfinal after 12:00 p.m. local time and 6:00 p.m. Novak Djokovic also plays Stefanos Tsitsipas at 1:00 p.m. ET and 7:00 p.m. local time.
