The Olympic champion triumphed in Paris with a total of 265, pipping Tommy Fleetwood of Great Britain to the gold medal on his Olympic debut.
Scheffler said after winning the Player of the Year award, “I would say the nine holes that kind of sticks out to me the most maybe would be the back nine at the Olympics. The way that Teddy [Scott, Scheffler’s caddie] and I kind of finished off that tournament was pretty cool.”
In 2024, the 28-year-old also recorded seven Tour wins, including his second Masters victory at the Augusta National and the tour’s championship trophy, the FedEx Cup.
Scheffler has been ranked world number one for 82 consecutive weeks and counting, recording more wins, more top 10s and a higher scoring average than anyone else on the tour.
The Jack Nicklaus Award is determined by a member vote, with all PGA Tour members who have played 15 events during the 2024 season eligible to cast their ballot.
