CANTON — The Canton McKinley High School football team hosts Perry at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium on Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Both teams are 1-0 in Federal League play, with Perry sitting 3-1 overall and McKinley 2-2.

The Bulldogs leads the Panthers 24-7 with 8:04 left in the third quarter.
The Panthers start on their 35 after McKinley kicked off out of bounds.
The Bulldogs rolled up 315 yards of offense in the first half (177 on the ground and 138 through the air). Jamar Johnson has rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown on six carries. Nino Hill has 50 yards and a TD on six carries. Kam Montgomery is 8-for-10 passing for 138 yards, one TD and no interceptions. Darius Hill has four receptions for 104 yards and a TD. For Perry, Kyson Walker has rushed for 59 yards on six carries and caught one pass for 33 yards. He also almost popped a kick return late in the half.
A play after a holding penalty downfield wiped out a 62-yard touchdown pass from Kam Montgomery to Darius Hill, it was Montgomery hitting Hill for a 23-yard TD with 12 seconds left in the first half. Montgomery stepped up in the pocket and whistled a strike to Hill in stride. Thomas Mankowski added the PAT and the Bulldogs take a 24-7 lead to the break. Perry entered the night having allowed 22 points all season.
Austin Mattox runs for a 12-yard touchdown and Brock Huggins adds the PAT to get Perry on the board. McKinley leads 17-7 with 4:06 left in the second quarter. Mattox hit Kyson Walker for 33 yards on the play before the score.
Jamar Johnson runs for a second-effort 3-yard touchdown and Thomas Mankowski adds the PAT. McKinley leads Perry 17-0 with 8:21 left in the second quarter. The Bulldogs are gouging Perry on the ground and mixing in the pass effectively.
Perry stuffs McKinley on a fourth-and-1 at the Bulldogs’ 45. Kyson Walker breaks loose for a 35-yard run on the next play for the Panthers, who eventually have to settle for a 39-yard Brock Huggins’ field goal attempt. It misses wide left.
McKinley gets it back on its own 46 with 4:19 left in the first quarter, leading 10-0.
The Bulldogs drop a touchdown pass on third down and settle for a 28-yard Thomas Mankowski field goal attempt, which he drills. McKinley leads Perry 10-0 with 5:59 left in the first quarter. An 18-yard pass play from Kam Montgomery to Keith Quincy keyed that drive.
McKinley gets the ball back and will start on its own 46, leading 7-0.
Just three plays into the game, Nino Hill runs for a 4-yard touchdown and Thomas Mankowski adds the PAT. McKinley leads Perry 7-0 just 53 seconds in. Jamar Johnson ran 64 yards on the first play (an option pitch) to set that up.
The Bulldogs start on their 20 after Brock Huggins boots the kickoff for a touchback.
Perry won the coin toss and deferred to the second half.

McKinley beat Perry 44-6 last year and leads the all-time series 12-11. But the Panthers have won seven of the last 10 matchups. The road team has won six straight in the series.
