Ohio State had a College Football Playoff run worth documenting this past season.
The Buckeyes showcased why in a 25-minute documentary titled “The Greatest Run in College Football History” released by the team on Monday, featuring interviews from numerous players and head coach Ryan Day.

It starts in the immediate aftermath of the Michigan loss and the oft-discussed team meeting between only players and Day that occurred afterward, featuring footage of the coach giving his squad a speech beforehand. Per linebacker Cody Simon there were lots of emotions, even tears in that conversation.
“It’s one of those moments that will probably go down in Ohio State history as one of those turning points in the season, the year they won the national championship,” Day said.
From there the documentary goes chronologically through the Buckeyes’ run, with plenty of highlights and behind-the-scenes footage from the sidelines and locker room of Ohio State’s victories over Tennessee, Oregon, Texas and Notre Dame. Each game segment starts with meetings and practices in preparation for those memorable matchups. Quarterback Will Howard gave a particularly rousing speech before the CFP national title game vs. the Fighting Irish.
“How do we want to be remembered, man,” Howard asked his teammates with a yell. “I love this team too much to let this thing end the wrong way. It’s not ending the wrong way. We are finishing this thing the right way, with us hoisting that trophy at the end of this thing. At the end of this thing, we’re hoisting this trophy up, confetti coming down. Visualize it right now.”
The video concludes with scenes from Ohio State’s national championship celebration and Day’s speech in the locker room afterward.
