ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Ohio Means Jobs is an agency that helps people facing employment issues.
Ohio Means Jobs of Muskingum County Workforce Administrator Julie Metzger talked about an upcoming job fair that hopes to fill local jobs that are in demand.
“We are having a job fair here at Ohio Means Jobs, located at 445 Woodlawn Avenue, tomorrow January 29th, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.,” Metzger said. “And we are putting this event together so that industry leaders can meet those with CDL licensures that are looking for employment. We’ve got top industry leaders that are looking to hire on the spot, as we have in Muskingum and surrounding counties, over 200 CDL open positions.”
Metzger noted that it will be a great opportunity to bring your resume and speak with employers that are actively looking for CDL drivers to find out their requirements and what positions they are needing to fill.
“They’re local employers who will have representatives here from ODOT, Bimbo, Muskingum Iron and Metal, just to name a few,” Metzger said. “And so again, they are actively hiring. They could do interviewing and applications here on the spot. And they’re looking forward to a good turnout, because as we all know, these CDL drivers are needed.”
Another aspect of Ohio Means Jobs is assisting with CDL training. So if you don’t have a CDL, bring your resume and proof of income, to see if you are eligible for financial assistance toward CDL training.
