Syracuse, N.Y. — The Syracuse University football team put a loud exclamation point at the end of a 10-win season with a 52-35 victory over Washington State in the Holiday Bowl on Friday night at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego.

Fran Brown became just the second Syracuse head coach since World War II (Paul Pasqualoni) to win 10 games in his debut season as Orange head coach as the quarterback he knew from a New Jersey Pop Warner league and imported from Ohio State engineered the best bowl performance ever for a Syracuse quarterback.
