Novak Djokovic won Olympic Gold in Paris earlier this year, beating Carlos Alcaraz in the final.
It was far from the perfect year for Djokovic in 2024, as he failed to pick up a title on the ATP Tour.
The Serb has recently made a huge announcement, as Djokovic is set to bring Andy Murray into his coaching team ahead of next year, as he looks to bounce back from a tough season.
A tough season that still saw the 37-year-old reach the final of a Grand Slam, as Djokovic lost to Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final for the second year running.
He came up short against another of the tour’s top youngsters later in the year, as Jannik Sinner beat Djokovic in the Shanghai final.
Djokovic will be able to stomach those defeats slightly easier, however, having finally accomplished a lifelong dream earlier this year.
Speaking to Sportweek upon the conclusion of his 2024 season, Djokovic looked back upon his ‘dream’ win at the Olympics earlier this year.
“The Olympic gold is an important achievement also because it is the only title collected this season,” he said.
“It’s also what I had indicated as the most important at the beginning of the year.
“Gold was a dream, therefore a priority.”
Djokovic now admits that the Paris Olympics, his fifth shot at glory, was most likely his last.
“It was my great ambition for many years, despite the failed attempts, with the three semi-finals lost and the bronze at my first participation, in 2008,” he said.
“So I told myself that, at 37, it was perhaps the last chance to put this medal around my neck, especially at Roland Garros, a field very familiar to me.
“I felt ready and I think I proved it with my performances at the Olympics.”
The Serb was more than happy to finally win the title that had eluded him for so long.
“In short, I made a dream come true and it is certainly one of the best moments, if not the best, of my career,” said Djokovic.
Many had said that Olympic Gold was the one title missing from Djokovic’s packed trophy cabinet, but has he really won everything there is to win in tennis?

The Serb has now won every ‘big’ title available in tennis, and with the exception of the aforementioned Olympic Gold, and the Davis Cup, he has won them all on at least three occasions.
A sensational record, but what is perhaps even more impressive, is that he has ‘completed’ the Masters 1000 tier of tournaments as well.

Not only did Djokovic win all nine Masters series events, but he has done so twice, an achievement that cannot be understated.
Regardless of whether you rank the Serb as the greatest of all time or not, it is hard to deny that his achievements will forever see him involved in those conversations.
Djokovic will look to add to those achievements in 2025, and he is likely to return for a warm-up tournament prior to the Australian Open which begins on January 12.
