MIAMI, Fla. (WNDU) – The Notre Dame football team may be battling more than the Penn State Nittany Lions tonight, they may also be battling the flu.
According to reporter Tyler Horka of BlueandGold.com and On3 Sports there is an outbreak of the flu in the Notre Dame locker room.
Horka’s report suggests that the players affected are mostly backup players and special teams players, but Notre Dame is dependent on special teams play and often goes deep into its depth chart.
The University has not confirmed the reports at this time.
The Fighting Irish are set to play Penn State tonight at 7:30 in a College Football Playoff game at the Orange Bowl in Miami.
