TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — “This is the primary care office, and these are just the exam rooms for the patients,” said Natalie Jones, giving tour of her new clinic moments before members of the community gathered for a ribbon cutting.
The NovaStar facility is the anchor of the newly revitalized Northridge Shopping Center, will have a meat market, business center, restaurants and a youth academy.
“This really means a lot to the community so we have something that we can go to and call it our own,” said Harold Jones.
“It brings more hope,” said Jackie Zeigler.
“There’s been a physician shortage all over the country, but especially here,” said Trisza Ray, a physician excited about taking part in an atmosphere of helping the local community.
“Tulsa raised me, Tulsa sent me to medical school, Tulsa created me, so it’s good to come back here and be a part of this,” she said.
The Joneses bought the center last March and have invested over half a million dollars to revamp it. No grants, no government tax breaks, just elbow grease and faith.
“I’m just a guy that I step out on faith and I’ve owned enough businesses and failed multiple times that I don’t mind falling. If I crash, I crash, I’m going to keep going,” said Harold Jones II.
“It’s a blessing because, I don’t want to cry but it’s amazing to see how God has blessed us with this center so we can help the community,” said Natalie Jones.
