North Carolina tennis commit Anna Frey has inked an NIL deal with Nerds ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl. Frey, a current high school junior, has amassed over two million followers on TikTok and 831,000 on Instagram.
Frey’s deal is part of a larger NIL campaign featuring the Cavinder Twins, Northwestern wide receiver AJ Henning, Clemson linebacker Sammy Brown, Clemson women’s basketball’s Mia Moore, Alabama running back Jam Miller, Miami wide receiver Joshisa Trader, Miami defensive lineman Reuben Bain and Michigan running back Justice Haynes. The campaign was facilitated by the marketing agency ESM.
Frey committed to North Carolina earlier this month. The Tar Heels won the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championship in 2023. The Tar Heels were national runner-ups in 2014, the only other title appearance in program history. In August, Frey upset Tamara Korpatsch at the Tennis in The Land tournament in Cleveland. Korpatsch was ranked No. 108 in the world.
This fall, Frey signed NIL deals with FILA and Head USA. HEAD equipped Frey with racquets and gear, while Frey agreed to showcase FILA’s CASA FILA collection on the court. She will visit HEAD’s headquarters in Austria, and the collaboration with FILA has the potential to take her to their headquarters in Milan, Italy.
Following her commitment to North Carolina earlier this month, Anna Frey joined the Utah-based technology company Udo Cam as both a partner and equity holder. As part of the six-figure agreement, she will receive equity, royalties and cash compensation.
“So soo happy to announce my verbal commitment to play D1 tennis at the University of North Carolina!” Frey wrote in an Instagram post when announcing her commitment. “Thank you to my family, friends and coaches for all the love and support from day 1. Can’t wait for this next chapter in life… we’re just getting started baby! So excited to be a Tar Heel!”
