Alabama football coach Kalen DeBoer is a family man. He and his wife Nicole have two daughters, and he has thanked his family publicly for its support throughout his career.
However, that family isn’t getting any bigger at present. DeBoer confirmed during his Wednesday appearance on the “Hey Coach” radio show that a social media rumor of he and Nicole expecting another child is untrue.
The first caller of the night, Peewee from Grand Bay as is tradition, congratulated the coach, who laughed before debunking the misinformation. Peewee wasn’t the only one to be fooled by the rumor, which originated from a Facebook account purporting to share Alabama news.
“The only reason I know is because I’ve got a lot of text messages saying congratulations,” DeBoer said, flashing a smile.
DeBoer and his Alabama team are facing a crucial stretch of the 2024 season coming up. The Crimson Tide faces LSU on Saturday, a game both teams carry two losses into.
After Alabama was ranked No. 11 and the Tigers No. 15 in the first College Football Playoff top 25 of the year, the loser will likely be eliminated from contention.
The Crimson Tide will at least be entering the game as healthy as it can be. On the first SEC availability report of the week, released Wednesday evening, Keon Sabb and Cole Adams were listed as out, as expected, but no other players were seen.
Alabama and LSU are scheduled to kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday in Baton Rouge. The game will be aired on ABC.
