BATAVIA, Ohio – The No. 10 Washington University in St. Louis golf team finished third at the UAA Championships, played on Monday and Tuesday. The two-day competition was a four-team match play held at Elk Run Golf Course and hosted by Emory.
Round 1
WashU fell to No. 2 Emory 3.5-0.5 on the first day of competition. Junior Tiffany Chan picked up the 0.5 points for the Bears, tying with Esther Jung.
Senior Sydney Kuo lost to Zimo Li 5&4 and sophomore Amy Beanblossom lost to Carys Code 1-up.
First-year Mabrie McMahan lost to Sharon Mun 3&2 while senior McKensey Kaseta fell to Ellen Dong 3&2.
Round 2
The Bears secured third place on Tuesday after defeating No. 17 NYU 3-2.
Beanblossom defeated Ziyi Jing 2&1 while McMahan beat Madison Phung 2&1. Kuo also won her match against Tiya Chowdry 1-up.
Chan fell to Shih Ting Tan 3&2 and Kaseta lost to Srishti Dhurandhar 5&3.
The Bears head to Bloomington, Ill. this weekend for the two-day IWU Fall Classic hosted by Illinois Wesleyan at the Ironwood Golf Course.
