Nikolas Khamenia is the latest player in the 2025 recruiting class to commit to Duke basketball, joining Cameron and Cayden Boozer as the latest prospects set to join Jon Scheyer’s Blue Devils.
Khamenia made his announcement on Tuesday, choosing Duke over UCLA and Gonzaga. In a live stream on 247Sports’ YouTube channel, Khamenia opened a USA jacket to reveal a “Blue Devil Energy” t-shirt.
“I’m going to come there and give it all I have,” Khamenia said. “I’m coming to win a national championship.”

A versatile 6-foot-8 wing from Harvard-Westlake High School in California, Khamenia visited Duke’s campus in September before announcing his decision on Tuesday.
The No. 27 recruit nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Khamenia is currently the eighth-ranked power forward in his class.
Spencer Hubbard, a guard on Duke’s current roster, played at Harvard Westlake and Khamenia also got the chance to get to know Duke freshman Pat Ngongba this summer at the USA Basketball junior national team minicamp.
Khamenia also represented Team USA at the FIBA U18 AmeriCup, helping the squad win a gold medal.
Known for his overall skill set as a playmaker, Khamenia’s length and shooting touch make him a tough player to guard. An underrated passer and facilitator, Khamenia looks like he could be a great fit as a connector for the Blue Devils.
What’s next for Jon Scheyer, Duke basketball in 2025 recruiting class?
With the Boozer twins and Khamenia announcing their commitments to Duke in the last two weeks, the Blue Devils have a trio of top-25 prospects set to join the 2025-26 roster.
It’s the only program with three top-25 commitments in the 2025 class. With a pair of power forwards and a point guard, Duke remains in the mix for other high-profile prospects.
Combo guard Acaden Lewis, along with small forwards Shelton Henderson and Nate Ament, were the latest players in the class to take official visits to Duke. Scheyer is putting together another top-notch group that’s well on its way to being No. 1 by the end of the cycle.
