The NFL Players Association and video-game publisher Ubisoft have teamed up for a new mobile game that will be released during the 2024 NFL season.
Ubisoft dropped the announcement trailer for NFL Primetime Fantasy on Thursday.
The free-to-play fantasy football card-style game will allow players to make real-time decisions during live regular-season and playoff matchups.
“This exciting collaboration with Ubisoft opens up fresh territory in the gaming world for the NFL,” Ed Kiang, vice president of video gaming at the NFL, said in a statement. “NFL Primetime Fantasy marks the first NFL-licensed mobile game tied to our live games, driving fans closer to the sport than ever before. With this new addition to our expansive gaming portfolio, we demonstrate our dedication to offering non-traditional video gaming experiences for our fans.”
Players will be able to take advantage of four different game formats, including live game action, elite NFL talent and friendly competition where gamers around the world can team up with each other to compete in a playoff tournament.
With the live format, players will have the ability to swap players from the bench into their lineup to boost their scores and take advantage of big moments within games.
Gamers will also be able to level up their rosters through gameplay to enhance bonuses of a player’s card to unlock their full potential.
If you don’t want to keep track of a team for the entire season, gamers will be able to dive in anytime to take advantage of weekly events throughout the regular season or playoffs.
An official release date has not yet been announced, but a worldwide launch is scheduled for November. Players who pre-register to participate in the beta will receive the early-access bundle, which contains a classic+ card pack and 100 adrenaline points, for free.
NFL Primetime Fantasy will be available for iOS and Android.
