Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for this week’s NFL action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NFL more/less picks.
2024 Season record: 18-9
Drake Maye has been showing off his rushing ability for the Patriots and will likely continue to do so for the rest of the season due to the lack of capable skill talent around him. Maye has always had rushing upside but is still being treated as an occasional runner. The total for this week is set at just 29.5 despite Maye rushing for 38 or more yards in three of his last four games and, of course, for 95 rushing yards last week. Still, the probability increases significantly if we drop the number down to 24.5 for a still-strong 1.48x multiplier. Mash the More on Maye for Week 10.
Pick: More
Hopkins went nuts in Week 9, dispelling the doubters and naysayers who proclaimed that the future Hall of Fame was already in the post-decline phase of his career. Hopkins secured eight of his nine targets for 86 receiving yards and two touchdowns in Week 9. He has a tough matchup this week as Pat Surtain is on the other side, but Hopkins and Patrick Mahomes are already starting to understand each other on scramble plays, suggesting that Hopkins can go off regardless of opponent, provided he gets a healthy diet of targets. The total here is low enough for him to hit with just one or two receptions, but some thought was still given to dropping the line to 39.5 at a 1.30x multiplier, which is the route the more risk-averse should take. For all others, dap the More on DeAndre for Week 10 at Sleeper Picks.
Pick: More
Ladd McConkey has been a great addition for the Los Angeles Chargers as the rookie leads the team in receptions, yards, and touchdowns. The targets have been consistent, but the yardage has not, making the 55.5 total a hard pass for More bettors. The Less has the higher probability, but knowing how talented Ladd is makes it a risk at a low enough number he can hit in two or three receptions. The 49.5 has some appeal at a 1.49x multiplier, but dropping it to 39.5 at 1.23x makes much more sense. Ladd has topped 49 receiving yards just three times all season but has topped 40 receiving yards in each of his last six games. Light up the More on Ladd for Week 10 at Sleeper Picks.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper, so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
