Nick Bosa flashed a MAGA hat during an NBC Sports postgame interview two weeks ago, and it turns out that is going to cost him a nice chunk of change.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Bosa has been fined $11,255 for violating the league’s uniform policy. That is reportedly the most he can be fined for a first-time offense. He could be fined as much as $16,883 for a second offense.

The San Francisco defensive end was asked about the threat of a fine earlier this week, and he said he expected it to come.

“It was well worth it,” Bosa said. “I don’t think my position on speaking about it is going to change. Clearly the nation spoke and we got what we got.”

The 27-year-old star stepped behind quarterback Brock Purdy, who was being interviewed following the 49ers- 30-24 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 27, and pointed to a Maga hat he was wearing.

Per USA Today, NFL rules state that players are not allowed “to wear, display, or otherwise convey messages … which relate to political activities or causes, other non-football related events, causes or campaigns, or charitable causes or campaigns.”

Bosa should be able to easily afford the fine. He signed a five-year, $170-million contract extension with San Francisco last season.
