The Washington Commanders entered Week 16 with everyone looking towards Week 17. The Eagles, and their obnoxious fanbase, were coming to Northwest Stadium riding a 10-game winning streak. Jalen Hurts was knocked out of the game in the first quarter, and Kenny Pickett had some success early, but was shut down for most of the game. The Commanders came from behind to get the 36-33 victory.
The Washington Commanders playoff odds increased with their upset win over the Eagles. They didn’t get any help from the Giants, who lost to the Falcons today, but they can clinch a spot in the playoffs on Sunday night when Atlanta visits Washington.
Washington can get as high as the #2 seed if they win out and the Eagles lose their last two games. That scenario is still unlikely, but the more attainable goal usurping the Packers for the 6th seed in the NFC. They play the hobbled Saints on Monday Night Football, and they’ll likely be 11-4 going into Week 17. They travel to Minnesota for a rematch with the Vikings, and will look to avenge their 31-29 loss earlier in the season.
