The Cincinnati Bengals have strung four wins in a row and have evened up their record at 8-8 by defeating the Denver Broncos at home on Saturday. They have one game left against the Steelers in Pittsburgh, which they need to win in order to keep their slipping postseason hopes alive. They also need help, though.
The Bengals needed the Colts to lose one game, which they did on Sunday against the Giants, and they still need the Dolphins, who beat the Browns on Sunday, to lose in Week 18 against the New York Jets on the road. Finally, they need the Chiefs to beat the Broncos in Week 18 as well.
If all that happens, the Bengals will sneak into the playoffs as the No. 7 seed. However, if the Broncos beat the Chiefs’ backups or the Dolphins defeat the Jets, it won’t matter if the Bengals win the final game of the season, they’ll be eliminated.
According to the FanDuel Sportsbook, the Bengals currently have +14000 odds to win the Super Bowl, meaning if you bet $100, you’d win $14,000. While they might be long shots, being alive heading into Week 18 is still a positive after the Bengals started the season the way they did.
