Here is what the national media is saying about the Week 4 game between the Browns and Raiders:
Both teams are coming off bad home losses. The Raiders have been considering a quarterback change, while a lot of folks in Cleveland wouldn’t mind one. Deshaun Watson is not playing well. I think he will pick it up here and play better. The Browns win their second road game of the season.
Watson hasn’t thrown for more than 200 yards in a single game this year and he’s not being helped by the fact that his battered offensive line has basically turned into a turnstile, which isn’t even a fair comparison, because it’s an insult to turnstiles. Watson has already been sacked 16 times this season, which is the most in the NFL. Trying to pick a winner in this game is like trying to pick what you want for breakfast, but your only two options are grilled ferret and blueberry pancakes, except the blueberries are actually small rocks.
I’m not sure who the ferret is and who the pancake is in this situation, but I’m taking the Raiders. The Browns had high expectations going into this season and if they lose this game, it might be time to start asking some serious questions in Cleveland like whether the Browns should try to trade Watson to the Panthers for Andy Dalton.
The Raiders will be called upon to show up for Antonio Pierce after sleepwalking through the bad loss to the Panthers in their home opener in Week 3. Gardner Minshew will need to let it loose more to a good receiving corps. Maxx Crosby will challenge the defense to get after Deshaun Watson. Pierce’s motivation works, while Watson goes through more of the motions on the road.
Who gets well here? Cleveland has a non-threatening offense, and Deshaun Watson has taken a league-high 16 sacks. The Raiders are coming off a messy loss against Carolina and have the worst rushing offense in the league (51 ypg.). Which defensive star makes the game-changing play — Myles Garrett or Maxx Crosby? The Raiders have won the past four meetings in this series.
